The Hobby Dojo Ltd.
Terms of Sale
Last updated
These terms apply when you buy from The Hobby Dojo, online or at a show. They are written to be read. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you buy.
Who you are buying from
The Hobby Dojo Ltd., 16 Palton Ave, Kanata, Ontario K2W 1G4, Canada. Email thehobbydojotcg@gmail.com.
What we sell, and how we describe it
- Singles are individual cards, almost always previously owned. Each is listed with a condition (Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Heavily Played or Damaged) that we assess by hand under good light. Grading is a judgement; ours is careful but not infallible, and we would rather you ask for a photo than guess.
- Graded cards(slabs) are sold as encapsulated by the named grading company, with the certification number shown. The grade is the grader's opinion, not ours, and the slab is sold as-is in its case.
- Sealed product is factory sealed as received from distribution. We do not open, weigh or otherwise sort packs or boxes.
- Supplies and displays (organisers, holders, trays, risers, stands) are new unless stated. Made-to-order items are described with their dimensions and materials; please check them against your cards or table before ordering.
- Custom art is sold as described, as a print or original, and is not a card and not graded or authenticated as one.
Photos of a specific card show that card. Catalogue art shows the printing, not the exact copy.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) and may change without notice; the price at the time you order is the price you pay. No sales tax is added at checkout. Online payment methods are listed at checkout. At shows we take cash and e-transfer. An order is accepted when we confirm it, and we may decline or cancel an order where a price was clearly listed in error, a card has been sold through another channel in the meantime, or we cannot verify payment; you will be refunded in full.
One copy, several places
A single card may be listed here and offered on eBay or at a show at the same time. The first completed sale takes it. If that happens to your order we will tell you promptly, refund you in full, and offer an alternative where we have one.
Shipping, returns and problems
How we ship and what it costs, that sales are final, and how we handle a problem with an order are set out in our Shipping & Returns policy, which forms part of these terms.
Buying and trading at shows
We buy and trade cards in person at our shows only, not by email or online. When you bring cards to our table:
- Any offer is ours to make, and we may decline any card or deal without giving a reason.
- A deal is final once the cash or cards have changed hands. Please check what you are giving and receiving before then.
- We may ask for photo ID, especially for larger purchases, and may decline a deal without it.
Authenticity
We check every card we buy and every card we ship. Have a concern about an order? Email us.
Accounts
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your Google sign-in secure, and tell us if you think it has been used without your permission. We may close an account used to abuse the shop or other customers.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law in Ontario or elsewhere in Canada. Beyond those rights, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not responsible for market price movements after a sale, for a grading company's opinion, or for delays caused by carriers or customs.
Trademarks
Pokémon, Riftbound, One Piece and every other game we stock, and the characters, names and artwork on the cards, belong to their respective owners. The Hobby Dojo is an independent retailer and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. Custom art we sell is our own or licensed to us, and is never represented as official product.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. We would rather sort out any problem by email first; failing that, the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force when you place an order is the one that applies to it. The date at the top tells you when they last changed.
